This project placed a strong emphasis on materiality, marking the first iPhone to feature a titanium enclosure. Working closely with Apple’s hardware art director, we focused on rendering the materials with accuracy and realism, ensuring they reflected the device’s real-world finish. In parallel, Scholar developed the animated wallpapers for all four color variants—particle-based simulations of sand grains moving across dune-like forms, each with a distinct color palette tailored to its finish.
